Photographer Lauren Crow is trying to revolutionize female pleasure one photograph at a time. Her latest series turns the lens on women right when they’re orgasming in order to show female sexuality at its most sweaty, honest, and natural state. Crow photographs women while their masturbating to depict real women having real orgasms, without anything faked or enhanced, as a reaction to how female orgasms are often shown in movies and porn (check out the images below).
Crow wants to break away from popular depictions of female sexuality that so often hide women’s true naughty natures in order to pander to audience’s expectations of what they’d like to see from sexual women on screen. She says, “In terms of female pleasure, we are rarely shown what it really looks like.” Crow wants to change that by focusing on real images of women climaxing—in all their messy, sweaty, and animalistic glory. Through these images, the photographer hopes to empower women to embrace their beautiful bodies, pleasure, and sexuality. Right on!
