The scandalous story about Trump’s alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels has been having a “yuge” effect on porn searches. According to Pornhub, worldwide searches for the porn star increased 375 percent just two days after the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump paid her $130,000 ahead of the 2016 election to keep quiet about their sexual encounters. The data found that searches for “Stormy Daniels” increased from a daily average of 2,500 to more than 2 million in just five days.
“[Adult Video News] Hall of Fame porn star Stormy Daniels has appeared in adult videos since the early 2000s, but recently shot to the forefront of public attention when her back-door dealings with US President Trump were revealed,” says Pornhub. Not surprisingly, the “Trump effect” was biggest in Washington, DC, where searches peaked at 332 percent above average, compared with 272 percent throughout the rest of the United States. Daniels was inducted into the Adult Video News’ Hall of Fame in 2014, 12 years after starting her career with Wicked Pictures. She’s gone on to direct and write many female-focused adult films like “Divorcees,” “Meant to Be” and “Good Will Humping.”
