The Folsom Street Fair is back again, bringing 250,000 fetish enthusiasts from all over the world to San Francisco to celebrate all things kink. The annual event that promises “something for everyone” aims to increase awareness and positivity around BDSM, and to raise funds for groups like the National AIDS Memorial. Participants show up clad in their kinkiest fetish gear—while many chose to wear no clothes at all!
More than 200 booths display fetish gear and toys for participants to check out, along with live BDSM demos, and a “sick and twisted performance stage.” NY Post reports, “One BDSM exhibit featured spanking benches and suspension frames where participants could be tied up and dangled. At another exhibit a few feet away, a man wearing just a kilt and a dog mask spanked a topless woman who was chained to a cross.” This year, the fetish fest puts special emphasis on educating about consent in BDSM.
