An Instagram model says a sex doll company created a doll based on her appearance without her consent. Yael Cohen Aris claims manufacturer Irontech Dolls have modeled a sex doll with almost identical features, down to the distinctive beauty mark on her bottom lip. She claims the company has been selling the doll under the name “Yael” and promoting it on online forums using the model’s own real-life images.
In a recent interview she said: “I don’t have anything against the sex doll industry, the problem here is they did it without my consent, without my knowledge.” She added, “It’s double wrong because it’s connected to my identity—it’s not just a doll that looks like me, they never hid the fact it’s developed from me.” A spokesperson for Irontech Dolls claimed the similarities between Yael and the doll are a “coincidence,” and promised to stop calling the doll “Yael”; meanwhile, the real Yael wants the sex dolls pulled from shelves.
