Trump-Endorsed Senate Candidate Says Contraceptives Will Be Banned If Elected

If you live in Michigan, you might want to start stocking up on prophylactics. A Trump-backed candidate running for Michigan state Senate said if elected she would vote to outlaw contraception. Jacky Eubanks, who is running for Michigan’s 63rd House district, claimed that banning birth control would solve the supposed declining population issue in the country.

“And that is why sex ought to be between one man and one woman in the confines of marriage, and open to life,” she told the Church Militant founder during an interview. The Trump-backed candidate added that if elected and a vote on birth control were to be brought up in the state House, she “would have to side with it should not be legal.” Eubanks said banning contraception would force people to think twice about having sex and make it so they only have sex in order to procreate: “I think people would actually be more likely to wait until marriage, to practice chastity, which is incredibly important,” she said, adding “I think that the birth rate of children outside of wedlock would probably go down in that case.”
