Sex pill prescriptions for frisky old fellas have ballooned by 56 percent in six years. Last year, there were almost 200,000 prescriptions for Viagra-style medication issued to men in their 80s—and now more than 6,500 were prescribed to men aged 90 or over, including a 101-year-old. In the past six years, men aged 99, 100 and even 102 also received X-rated medical assistance.
NHS England figures show the number of libido-boosting drugs for men 80 and over jumped from 127,448 in 2016 to 196,867 last year. Around one in 40 men receive them, with those in their 60s getting the most. Some urologists also claim the drugs can help the heart: “There is some evidence that men who take these drugs have a lower risk of major cardiac issues, whether due to healthier blood vessels or less depression we do not know.”
