A naughty husband who texted sex workers on his iPhone plans to sue Apple for 5 million after his wife found the messages on a linked computer. The man said he would arrange liaisons via iMessages, which he would then delete. But his wife clicked on the same app on the family’s iMac and found his last text—she then discovered supposedly deleted messages stretching back several years and filed for divorce within a month.
Now the man aims to recover cash he lost in the separation, plus legal costs, arguing Apple does not make it clear iMessages can be seen on linked devices. “My thoughts are, if I had been able to talk to her rationally and she had not had such a brutal realization of it, I might still be married.” The man’s law firm said Apple has not yet replied to the lawsuit.
