Want to get dirty with your partner? Better start cleaning up first! According to a new study, couples who share more housework have more sex. Not surprisingly, the couples were happiest when they divided tasks evenly—and couples where both partners dusted and cleaned the bathroom had sex nearly two more times a month.
Psychologists and sexperts note that if women feel burdened by doing too much housework, they will feel less like getting intimate with their partner because they don’t feel supported. “If they’re not as tired, or less stressed, then they’re more able to relax — and more likely to want to connect to a partner,” says a psychologist. Researchers also talk about “choreplay,” or when a partner chips in with housework without needing to be asked—you know, the other person might very much be in the mood to “express their gratitude.”
