Men with higher testosterone levels may be more sexually active and likely to cheat on their partners, a new study finds. Testosterone has long been linked with randy behavior among men, but the new data found those with more of the hormone really are more likely to have multiple partners at one time. Researchers took saliva samples from 1,599 men, and looked at their answers to a questionnaire on sexual behavior.
Men with higher testosterone were more likely to report having had more than one sexual partner at a time, and to have had sex recently. The results, published in The Journal of Sex Research, show that there is growing interest in using testosterone supplements to improve people’s libido, particularly for men who are low on the hormone.
