A New Zealand porn director has been ordered to return £85,000 in funding after a public backlash against her X-rated project. The film, named Rein, led to serious safeguarding concerns over scenes that featured live hardcore sex acts and the recruitment of those with disabilities. The culture minister said there was “no way” the film should have been funded by the taxpayer.
The project was awarded £84,555 through the Open Fund for Individuals. Some scenes were expected to feature “bare-ass lovers frolicking in long grass.” Three actors were also being paid £270 a day to perform in “a secret cave sex party.”
