When it comes to sex positions, women have a clear favorite for feeling sexy. In a survey that asked 2,000 adults about their sex lives, most women said they prefer the missionary position. 40 percent of women reported feeling the most confident and sexy when on the bottom.
In contrast, 21 percent of women admitted that being on top in cowgirl position made them feel insecure about their bodies. Researchers think this has to do with societal pressure for women to look “sexy” during sex. They add that as people get older, they feel better about how they look during sex: About 22 percent of men and women between the ages of 55 and 64 say they “always feel confident” about their bodies, compared to just 7 percent of those between 18 and 24.
