Flirt Creates Women’s Empowerment Legal Center

We are always proud of the many talents of Flirts showcased on NiteFlirt. But nothing makes us prouder than hearing about all the good and giving back our Members do in the real world. This Giving Tuesday, we are shining a light on a very special organization created by one of our own beloved Flirts.

A fifteen-year successful veteran of NiteFlirt, B.D. (name changed to preserve anonymity) was inspired by working in the adult industry and observing the driving need to empower women. Setting her ambitious sights on becoming an attorney to advocate for her community and with the vision to one day be a voice for those in need, B.D. completed law school and passed the bar exam – all while still taking calls on NiteFlirt!

The Women’s Empowerment Legal Center (WELC) was founded to aid individuals and families affected by abuse and to meaningfully impact those in need of support after experiencing major life transitions. WELC is a non-profit based in Texas with the vision to provide free legal services and protective orders for survivors of domestic violence.

Since its inception earlier this year, WELC helps clients obtain stability by fostering a safe place to secure their independence and design an action plan focused on educational and financial literacy goals. WELC also collaborates with free, local counseling programs so that survivors can prioritize their mental health and forge their own path to empowerment. WELC’s newest initiative is a collaboration between the local women’s shelter to offer physical wellness classes structured around mobility, mindfulness, yoga, and self-defense-based jiu-jitsu classes. The program offers a physical outlet for survivors to process and conquer their trauma in a secure environment and a space where they can learn to love themselves and their bodies again.

When asked about B.D’s past with sex work, she states, “I am proud of the nearly two decades I spent marketing fetish work. I crafted and honed business skills while working at NF Services which now lead to me being a successful attorney and non-profit director. There is no shame in my history with adult industry marketing. I value everything I learned on the phone and with my peers. I owe the life that I have to be on the phones with NF Services.”

In the spirit of the season, we encourage you to consider making a donation to this incredible organization and if you would like to learn more about the Women’s Empowerment Legal Center’s fundraising efforts, please visit their fundraising page on PayPal.
