Global consumer brands Kraft Heinz, Unilever, which makes Dove soap, and Hellmann’s mayonnaise all have one thing in common—they advertise on the world’s most popular porn site. All of the companies launched huge advertising on Pornhub. One of the adverts for Unilever read: “If you use our bathroom products you won’t have to visit this site as much.”
The company reportedly spends roughly 12 billion a year on marketing and Unilever’s creative director said the company chose to advertise on the porn site because it “has guys’ backs.” Kraft Heinz, which owns Weight Watchers, HP Sauce and Capri-Sun, also advertised on Pornhub by taking over the homepage for a one-day #FoodPorn campaign. Pornhub has 110 million visits per day, and since its audience is 71 percent male, it’s an attractive site for advertisers who are targeting campaigns toward men.
