Openly gay singer-songwriter Troye Sivan whetted fans’ appetites for his hotly anticipated new album by dropping a sexy new single laden with double entendres. While Sivan’s never been shy about embracing his sexuality in his music, “Bloom” takes things up a notch or two. As many fans have pointed out, the lyrics seem to be an ode to bottoms.
“Take a trip into my garden, I’ve got so much to show ya,” Sivan sings. “The fountains and the waters are begging just to know ya, and it’s true, baby, I’ve been saving this for you.” Following the song’s release, Sivan implied the song was about being on the receiving end of butt sex with his tweet: #BopsBoutBottoming. But Sivan played it cool when asked about the meaning of the song: “It’s 100 percent about flowers! That’s all it is,” he said. “Call it whatever you wanna call it. I wanna play that song at every Pride.”
