British model Christine McGuinness expressed her frustrations with TikTok after the app deleted one of her sexy videos. “TikTok is ticking me off,” McGuinness wrote in an Instagram post. “I was wearing jeans and jumper, didn’t flash a nipple, it wasn’t sexual, violent or dangerous!. WTF?”
In its community guidelines, TikTok notes that “sexually explicit or gratifying content” is not allowed—but many have noted that content which doesn’t violate the guidelines is still removed by the site. One user tweeted, “Tiktok hates female body empowerment. They took down a fully clothed video of mine for having dom vibes so I clapped back and in my repeal referenced shirtless guys doing kink videos but somehow I’m ‘not family friendly.’” Another disgruntled person said, “Excuse me @tiktok_us but I posted a video that HARDLY shows my butt cheeks, and there are videos of girls in thong bikinis.”
